Just a Few Things I Felt Like Sharing

1. Friday night, Mr. Wonderful and I decided to go to Whole Foods to pick up dinner and various cheese goodies (because who can resist the cheese selection there, right?). We bought some delicious pumpkin tortellini that he prepared in a fantastic butter sage sauce, but that’s completely beside the point. The real highlight of the evening was that we bought a bacon-chocolate candy bar.

As soon as we got in the car, we busted it open and each ate a square. My mouth was very confused. It loved the bacon flavor. It adored the chocolate. But it wasn’t quite sure what to do with them together. Eat with eggs? Or melt over vanilla ice cream?

I brought the remainder of the bar to Father’s Day Dinner at my parents’ house and the reaction was the same from everyone who tried it: Just not quite sure what to think. It wasn’t bad…but was it good? You’ll have to try one for yourself.

2. On Father’s Day night, my mom made us watch (seriously) a 720-picture digital slideshow of her and my dad’s cruise to Hawaii. Nearly bored to tears, we were all trying to find ways to entertain ourselves while we endured dirty Hawaiian music (something about Grandpa’s hangy banana or something) and image after image of the Lido deck. So finally my niece said—in front of Mr. Wonderful—“Mommy, pull my finger!” And my sister did it. And my niece totally ripped one in front of Mr. W. It was embarrassing and delightful all in the same.

3. I love Batman and the batsuit. LOVE. Would do anything to see Christian Bale in person in his costume. And today, Mr. W sent me a link to this site which has the suit pictured here available for rental for a mere $1200. If he really cared about me, he would get it for a night. Or twenty minutes.

After reading this, Mr. W had better rent that suit.

And Whole Foods has cheesy goodness? Check.

Chocolate and bacon...no thanks...we also were almost roped into the 720 photo montage on Father's Day, but thankfully i had a bad allery attack and had to go home. Now I'm interested in hearing the dirty Hawaiian music since all my parents could do was talk about how great it was and how they wished they bought the CD.

I'm sorry, I saw the Batman costume, started thinking about Christian Bale and my thoughts turned to naughty things. I keep trying to finish the post but then I see the costume, start thinking about Christian Bale, and my thoughts turn to naughty things.

So don't be knocking a lovely evening with the family and home entertainment. This is what memories are made of. And someday,
you can write about it in "Mom Remembers". My DVD was much more entertaining than than pulling Allie's finger!
Poor Mr. W - I wonder what he really thinks. He probably has nightmares about these events.

Okay, now I simply must try the bacon-chocolate candy bar, just so I can join in the discussion!

LOL - If he really, really, really cared about you, wouldn't he get Christian Bale in the Batsuit for you? Or both? ;)

Still not ready to try it, but I am not a huge bacon fan to begin with... maybe thats the problem. Your family is hilarious, did Mr. W blush? and can I just say Yummy, and I will have to keep that link around to share with my future man...

We were just talking about that chocolate bar this weekend. Apparently there's another one with chilli pepper in it. And another one mixed with wasabi. Crazy, the things they'll mix chocolate with, eh?

Michael C - Whole Foods is like cheese mecca. You should go there on Sundays to worship.

Laura - Perhaps we can all sit through the torture again on 4th of July. You definitely need to hear the music.

Dingo - I {heart} you for loving Christian as I do.

AMOMymous - Isn't it your job to write in "Mom Remembers"?

Geekhiker - Please do try the bacon bar. And you're right - Mr. W should TOTALLY get me Christian and the batsuit rental for himself. Why am I seeing a Doublemint gum commercial in my mind now...?

Alysha - I don't know if Mr. W blushed because I was too embarrassed to look at him. I think we're wearing down his niceness though. :P

t-ho - Are you with Jane Moneypenny? Are YOU Jane Moneypenny? Or is the Florence thing just coincidence?

Nilsa - I've had the chili pepper one too! It was kind of good. Weird again - like the bacon one - but interesting.
