Blogger’s Guilt

Hi readers. As you may have noticed, I’ve been slacking a little on the posts lately. I haven’t been responding to your comments…I haven’t been reading your blogs as diligently as I was…I can’t even seem to find time to reply to sweet people (like Semicharmed) who send me emails. And despite the lack of actual indicators that I regret my behavior and want to change my ways, you should all know that I feel extremely guilty for not fulfilling my bloggerly duties.

This little web site and the people who read it really matter to me.

It’s tricky when you get tangled in a fishing line of weddings and freelance work and family time and errands and boyfriend time and appointments. As I sit here, I’m eating my lunch with a half-numb face from the dental procedure I had done this morning. Yes, I got a mirror to watch myself eat. And yes, every time I chew, I look like a crazy bag lady who is missing half her teeth. But that’s not the point.

The point is, I’ve been backburnering this blog and I feel bad. So in an attempt to rectify things, I decided to FINALLY post my pay-it-forward list of new bloggers I like. However, when I had to choose 7 people for it, I found myself feeling guilty yet again. Because all of you blog writers deserve an award. Heck, all of you who don’t have a blog but write thoughtful comments deserve an award!

I have to thank Nilsa for not only giving me this blogger award, but for writing this fantastic post that discussed the very guilt I’ve been feeling. She rules. Speaking of rules, here are the rules for the Brillante Award:

1. The winner can put the logo on his/her blog.
2. Link to the person you received your award from.
3. Nominate at least 7 other blogs for an award.
4. Put links to those blogs on yours.
5. Leave a message on the blogs for the people you’ve nominated.

And here are my winners:
Anita Stylist
Charlotte Harris
Just Run Just Live Just Be
My Life and Random Babblings
The Coconut Diaries
Variety is the Spice
Skrinkering Hearts

Thank you for the therapy session. I will send each of you $100 in my heart…

Wow! YAY! Thanks! You just made my day. It's been a rough week (I haven't even posted what occured this weekend). As for catching up, I know what you mean, but I've found that using Google Reader has saved me HOURS of catching up on blogs.

Well, then I will spend your $100 on a cure new pair of shoes and that bag I pass every day at lunch...in my heart.

I, too, am having trouble keeping up with my blog now that school has started. Man, I miss the days when I was paid to troll the internet for entertainment and giggles.

Thanks for the shout-out!

ACK! On one hand I feel so honored to be recognized by someone who can legitimately be called a blogger, and on the other hand I don't feel worthy enough to receive such a prize (will people really think my Budonkadonk post is for real?!?) :)

Thank you Mel for thinking of me and maybe you've inspired me to blog more than my goal of once-a-month.

I diligently await for your posts daily so thank you for recognizing your avid followers and keep on bloggin...cuz we all love you.

You are such a doll. No worries - I'm just glad to know you got it and I didn't overstep my blog friendliness :)

I couldn't agree more with Anita - I check in all the time (would be more but damn firewalls at work)
your writing is brilliant & when you write seriously it makes me feel like I am talking with one of my girlfriends so keep it up.

I wouldn't feel too bad about your small slow down in blogging. My blog is doubling as a journal/photo album for my cute little boy, and I don't post anywhere near as often as you do. Plus, my posts are hardly ever as inspiring, funny, or well written as yours are!! I guess I'm the one who should be feeling guilty!

You so deserve this award. Look, can you just send me the $100? I won't tell anyone.

aw, thanks for the award my friend! i was just talking with someone today about how im in a little bloggy funk. not really feeling the motivation to get it up for the blog lately. i guess that happens from time to time. so what im saying is, we all have other stuff going on outside our digs here. no need to feel guilty for not making it around as often as you'd like, etc. do what you need to do, and we'll be here waiting for you when you get back!

xx

I haven't had trouble writing mine, but I've had major trouble getting the time to visit all my fav bloggers. As they say, life happens ;-)

Oh yay. I'm so glad you feel the love. And even took a little time to share the love. Sometimes that's all that it takes. But, when you don't have time, don't feel bad. Just consider yourself "away [from your blog] on assignment" and when you get back, you'll have some great stories to share!

Man, I'm glad you didn't pick my blog. Like me, it's just one long string of down at the moment...
